Entry Rules & Regulations:

1. Open to all UNHCR Cardholders/ Asylum seekers with appointment card and letter from UNHCR in Malaysia and to foreign workers in Malaysia with Visitor's Pass/Temporary Employment Pass only; the contest is not open to professionals. Previous winners (First Prize only) are not eligible

2. Each participant can submit 1 poem in Bahasa Malaysia, English or their mother-tongue (please also provide a translation in English)

3. Mention your name, age, and nationality in your email

4. All submissions to be sent in a single email to mymigrantpoetry@gmail.com either as pdf attachment or pasted on body of email together with name, mobile number and location in Malaysia

5. Judges will shortlist 10-15 entries by 23 October, 2022

6. Selected finalists to record a recital of their shortlisted poems and to send to us for final judging. Final results announced by 20th November 2022

7. Entrants retain the copyright, the organizers retains the rights to publish and distribute any submitted poem and their translations

8. Prizes for the contest:

   • Refugees Adult Category (> 12 years of age)1st Prize - MYR 1000, 2nd Prize: - MYR 500, 3rd Prize: MYR 300

   • Migrant Workers Adult Category (> 12 years of age)1st Prize - MYR 1000, 2nd Prize: - MYR 500, 3rd Prize: MYR 300

   • Junior Category (12 years of age or below): Trophy and certificates
